Many of you don't know this but ever since I was a young girl when I would get really close to someone I would either get scared and run away or do something to screw it up. This could be because the people who I have loved or cared for the most have hurt me or maybe I secretly don't think I deserve to have something great in my life. Which ever it is the one thing I have tried to change is this. I have come a long ways from the numb person I used to be to this person so full of life. God put trails and people in our lives to mold us into the people he wants us to be. Its a matter if we take it as a chance to learn and grow or become stuck in the same rut that our miserable brother is in. People say we don't have a choice in the matter but in truth we do. We choose to let Satan control us and get inside our heads. He doesn't have some magic key to get into the gates of our minds, the only way he can get in is if we give him that key. (Which at times we don't realize we have done this.)
<This song describes how I'm feeling right now. I'm tired of waiting on a man to come and save me. I gotta grow up be someone. Draw a map, find a path, take a breath and run. Run, run, run, run.. Lol I feel like I have been running for a long time now> Anyways I have started to let people in and even though I have been hurt a few times I will admit it is ten times better than not feeling any thing at all. :) I suggest you all do the same!
What characteristics makes a good missionary? Is it the amount they tracked? Or the amount of baptisms they have? No its the time, effort, and endless love for the people who reject them but they would still help them anyway they could with out any intent for a reward. The missionaries who put their heart and soul into the work, they don't always have the "most baptisms" but they are the ones who touch the most lives that change and soften the hardest of hearts. Like Ammon in the Book of Mormon Alma chapter 17- 21. How can we today learn from such great missionary work? By our example and love for others we can influence the lives of people in drastic ways. Maybe not covert them to our religion (even though as missionaries that is the reason we are out to bring people unto the gospel) but help influence their lives to allow them to become their best selves. The key is to become Christ like and love everyone the way Christ loves us. Love never fails you..
